Our party of 4 went for Sunday lunch, great value tasty food and brilliant service. They have a separate vegan menu as well as vegetarian options. Staff very attentive throughout.
Some food was nice but stone cold and not served on hot plates! Orders were incorrect, they clearly cannot cater for large groups. Most of the food was cold, some rude staff members. Some food was disgusting that it wasn't even eaten! Had problems here before and thought under different management it would be better. It was worse! Would not recommend to anyone!
Table booked for 6.0pm Saturday 15/12/2018, I arrived at 6.0pm, had to wait 5 minutes to be seated, at that moment we were told that all food and drinks are to be ordered at the bar as they have removed the table service. Note; (table service was always provided from 6.0pm). WE went to the bar with our order to find groups of customers waiting to be served for drinks and food orders, only one staff member was serving while everyone was waiting in no order. One customer got irate with the manager who was the only one serving, he remarked that they removed the table service 3 months ago and this now is the norm, I reacted by saying this is incorrect as I was eating here two days previously where I had received table service with a nice meal.Someone is telling Porkies. The manager then said 3 members of staff failed to turn up for work with no apologies for the long delay. I said this pub wont last long with these changes implemented and I left the pub with my family.We quickly decided to pop over to the other Marston's pub the Fox at Iron Acton to be welcomed with table service and a nice meal.We like to go out to be waited on and have no problem paying for this.Although the food is fine we will never be returning to the Hollow tree Bradley Stoke. Well done the Fox.
This pub has the most friendly staff.and food is to the highest standard. You never wait long to receive it and once you Finnish the friendly staff clear your table without delay....what a lovely experience.. 5 stars from me.
Decent food at a decent price and very friendly and helpful staff. The pizzas are handmade and fired in a pizza oven - they are generally great but can vary depending who is on shift. Specials offers make this very good value, with 5 pizza Wednesday etc. Dogs welcome outside. You can book tables online.
